SUBEB Commences Training for SBMCs

The Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) will on Wednesday the 21st of November 2018, commence a three-week long training exercise for 11,628 School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) members from across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State. Basically, the SBMCs are made up of members of communities hosting the 612 public primary schools currently within the Edo BEST framework. They bring reports and feedback of activities of host communities, the schools, and other relevant government bodies and stakeholders in the basic education sub-sector. This ensures adequate participation of communities in the effective administration of public primary schools in consonance with Edo BEST programme. They also promote such issues as the access rights of children to basic education as enshrined in the constitution. Primary five pupil with amazing constructions gets a scholarship.

The executive chairman of Egor Local Government Area, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia has awarded scholarship to master Lucky Ekhator, the primary five pupil who constructed a working  tricycle, flying boat and blender  Link Speaking with the Hon. chairman during her visit to Olomuza primary school Useh on Friday, 16t h November, 2018 when she came to flag off immunization campaign and distribute writting materials to pupils, master Lucky said his future ambition is to become an engineer. He said he decided to put his dreams into action when his class teacher gave them a prompt on programing and construction, and also asked them to construct anything of interest to them using old materials they could get.  Hon.Eghe Ogbemudia who was very pleased and full of excitement when master Lucky brought out his constructions and actually made them move right in her presence after explaining some of the construction processes decided to award him scholarship to fufil his dream of becoming an engineer.

A primary five pupil of Olomuza primary school Useh, in Egor LGA of Edo state Master Ekhator Lucky has magnificently constructed a tricycle, blender and flying boat that do not only look very real, but also works. He submitted his constructions to his class teacher weeks after they were given an assignment to carry out constructions on anything of interest to them... Edo State Government Sends Primary School Teachers Abroad...

Since the inception of Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (EdoBEST) in Edo state where over 7000 primary school teachers across the 18 Local Government Areas  in the state went through rigorous trainings on the use of computers and modern teaching techniques in delivering quality teaching content, several trainings and opportunities have preceded... Amongst these are: robotic training organised by Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (EdoSUBEB) in collaboration with RoboRave and supported by the United States Embassy, invitation of Edo basic education teachers to high level educational conference: Nigerian Education Innovation Summit (NEDIS) 4th edition held in Lagos on October, 17th and 18th 2018 where they were made panelist to speak on accountability and transparency in the educational sector. ROBOTIC TRAINING FOR EDO STATE TEACHERS

The Robotics Training for teachers organized by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in collaboration with RoboRave Nigeria and supported by the United States embassy held on Wednessday, 24th October, 2018 left many of the participating teachers in awe as many consider it a giant mile stone in modern pedagogy. The teachers were taught the basics in computer programming which focused on robots receiving a program(input), processing it and outputting it. Speaking during the training exercise one of the participating teachers Mrs Yvonne E. Ogboko, noted that the pupils' mind can be better sharpened with such training. "You could see the joy on our faces after we programmed the robot and then it performed the command given to it. We were made to understand that we could teach our pupils the basics of schematics in topics, like how to calculate distance, time and speed. It can also help to sharpen the minds of our pupils."
