The Giant Strides of Edo BEST Teachers, Governor Obaseki Gifts a House...


Teachers and head teachers of the Edo BEST Initiative keep blazing the trail in their profession which has seen them rise above limits and set records that would linger beyond a lifetime.

Mrs Norabgon Enogie is one of such head teachers who have distinguished themselves and served their world with dedication in their teaching profession.

Her success story began when she was selected to represent Oredo Local Government area of Edo State in an assessment exercise with other colleagues drawn from the 3 Senatorial districts and the 18 LGAs of the State where she emerged winner.

As headmistress of Emotan Primary School, she successfully attracted the attention of the Alumni association and PTA of Emotan Primary School to the developmental needs of the school in terms of infrastructures, and through their assistance, carried out diverse renovations of the school alongside the provision of necessary facilities amongst which are;

- Construction of an underground drain system to channel out flood from the school's playground,
- Renovation of a block of 6 toilets with modern facilities,
- Donation of cabinet for storage of vital documents and records,
- Repair of school's borehole and generator,
- Repair of vandalised classrooms and headteacher's office,
- purchase of chairs and tables for KG 1-3 kids, etcetera.

She also emphasized and placed her pupils' learning side by side sports development which skyrocketed her pupils academic performance, making them emerge winners in debates, reading and quiz competitions as well as soaring in sports competitions.

These were confirmed to be true by the officials of the Federal Ministry of Education, sent from the FCT, Abuja.  She was later notified of her emergence as 2nd Best School Administrator in Nigeria and was invited to Abuja in company of Edo State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Emmanuel Agbale for a Presidential award on Friday 6th October 2018, on the occasion of World Teachers' Day.

She was presented to the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki, at the Unveiling of 7,000 digital teachers of the Edo BEST Initiative.

The Governor gifted Mrs Noragbon Enogie with a housing unit at the Emotan Gardens which was handed to her by the vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, on Thursday 31st January 2019, in company of the Edo SUBEB Chairman, Dr. Joan Osa Oviawe and the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Emmanuel Agbale, during the commissioning of the Emotan Gardens.

Mrs Noragbon Enogie like most Edo BEST teachers has always been passionate about her teaching profession both in the days of being a classroom teacher and now as a school administrator.

Like most Edo BEST teachers, she has taken up her teaching responsibilities with renewed vigour. The success story recorded today is one that has been championed by the Governor Godwin Obaseki administration under the framework of the Edo BEST Initiative. It is one that would transcend a lifetime. It is a legacy for posterity.
