Edo SUBEB Takes Delivery of 100 Solar Power Panels for Edo BEST Schools

In furtherance of the Edo BEST Initiative, the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has taken delivery of 100 solar power equipment to power schools within the Edo BEST framework. This is to ensure a constant availability of power in schools to enable teachers and head teachers power their teaching and administrative gadgets.

Present at the event was the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki, who instructed that the solar panels be installed immediately to enable immediate use. He considers the availability of power in schools, a cardinal aspect of his transformation initiative at the basic education level.

The acting Board Secretary of SUBEB, Edo State, Comrade (Mrs) Caroline Aikoriogie, in an interview with journalists, lauded the transformation initiative ongoing at the basic education sub-sector and commended the Government for providing an alternative power source in schools as it would aid the teaching and learning process.

She hopes that more solar panels are underway and would be made available to all Edo BEST schools until every school within the Edo BEST framework is adequately powered.

Head teachers present were delighted at the innovation. Expressing her delight, the head teacher of Enikaro Primary School appreciated the State Government for the intervention as she considered it a gesture that will ensure the availability of power in every digital school whether in the urban or rural settlements of the State.

The State Government, under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki is committed to providing quality education by making power available in all schools in furtherance of the technological revolution that is ongoing at the basic education sub-sector of the State.
